I recently created a brand new line of 3D printed WOVEN wicker furniture in quarter scale that I call “Dream Wicker”(TM pending). This wicker furniture is unique in that it combines the beauty of real wicker with the much sought after realism and detail usually lacking in quarter scale size.
I describe this furniture as “woven” because I literally weave each row of wicker
within the CAD design, so that when it is manufactured you can see the tiny gaps
between each horizontal row and around the vertical rods. This furniture is NOT molded or extruded by the thousands, it is hand drawn and then created by my
own, very advanced, 3D printer, which carefully executes my design in layers
that are less than the thickness of a human hair.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE PRINTER SUPPORTS ON THESE PIECES OF FURNITURE
In order to avoid breakage during
shipping, all of the wicker furniture kits come to you WITH all supports still
attached. I will include detailed, step
by step, instructions (with photos) on how to safely remove them. These pieces
are fairly sturdy and I have positioned the supports to be as easy as possible
to cut off. (See my separate page with photos showing the supports to be removed and instructions.)
The very best tool to perform this task is an “official” flush cutter, which is different from a wire cutter. If you have access to Amazon Prime, you can get a decent “micro” size cutter for less than $10 (look for a size #170). For those who don’t have access to Amazon, I have a small flush cutter and also an assortment of small sanding sticks for sale. These are of average quality (like the ones I first started with) and should be sufficient for removing the supports and smoothing the attachment points on this furniture. If you’re a “tool junkie” like me, check out Micro Mark’s “Micro Sprue Cutting Plier” item# 88288 ($24.95) and “Tweezer Sprue Cutter” item #: 82393 ($19.95). They are what I use to cut even the most delicate pieces. Also, see Amazon’s "Kalim MINI Diamond Needle File Set (10pcs 150 Grit Precision Diamond File)", for $7.88 they are terrific for gently sanding in very small spaces.

THE “ISLAND STYLE” COLLECTION

“Island Style” Loveseat
This is a 3D printed wicker Loveseat with lots of detail. Note the smooth “rattan like” tubular frame as it curves across the back and down the arm and into the legs. Also, see how the thinner trim along the bottom gives the piece a fancier, delicate style. This kit includes cushion material and patterns for both the seat and back, which can be one long cushion or split in two. This cushion material can be used as-is (white), painted any color you choose, or covered with your own fabric.

This is a 3D printed wicker Chair that would look great on it’s own or with the matching loveseat above. This piece has the same airy feel as the other pieces in this group. This is a very unique 3D printed wicker Display Coffee Table because it is designed to be deep enough to hold a few shells or trinkets and comes with a laser cut clear plastic top to show them off. The oval shape gives it an old-fashioned feel while the legs and trim match the style of the Loveseat and Chair above. This kit includes two different seashell graphics for the bottom of the inside to give you a starting point for your display. The “shells” that I’ve put in the sample were actually made using the mini seashell clay mold that I’m offering for sale on my "Tools & Molds" page. I just added some pearl no-hole beads, a tiny piece of coral and some “sea glass” made from a blue crystal bead that I crushed.

Why have a plain old end table when you can have this 3D printed wicker Display End Table. Like the matching Coffee Table, it is deep enough to hold a few shells or trinkets and comes with a laser cut clear plastic top to show them off. The square shape is a little more modern and the legs and trim match the style of the rest of the Island Style Collection. This kit includes two different seashell graphics for the bottom of the inside to give you a starting point for your display. The “shells” that I’ve put in this sample are natural tiny shells mixed with some beautiful gold shells that I’m also selling on my "Tools & Molds" page. Then I added some pearl no-hole beads for an elegant “beachy” look.

This Round Standing Planter goes great with the rest of the Island Style set or makes a perfect accent piece just about anywhere. I painted this version white and then dry-brushed on just enough aqua paint to give it that “beachy” feel. This planter will fit a potted plant nicely or you can add a small amount your own landscaping materials and flower fluff like I did.

THE “KEY WEST” COLLECTION

When I began looking for my first bedroom collection to make, I was instantly struck by the timeless beauty of this set. The simplicity of the louvers gives a modern edge while the texture of the wicker softens the look and provides the detail I was looking for. This full-size bed kit comes with a headboard, footboard, wooden mattress and wood side rails.

With its woven wicker sides and louver and wicker drawer fronts, I first designed the matching dresser as a simple accompaniment to the Key West Bed. After I thought about it for a bit, I said to myself, why not do something more unique with this piece, and so the companion version with real working drawers (that you don’t have to put together) was born! Imagine being able to show a little “laundry” sticking out of the drawer or you can remove the bottom 2 drawers and the base piece becomes a “buffet”, or TV stand, or whatever accent piece of furniture you choose. Since the inspiration set had round “ring shaped” drawer pulls, I had to try and recreate those as well. Both dressers come with separately printed drawer pull rings (with extras of course in case you lose one or two) that are as easy (or easier) to attach than the old standard no-hole beads.

What bedroom would be complete without a mirror to hang over the dresser. This 3D printed mirror with a rounded shape at the top and louvers to match the bed, comes with a very clear and realistic laser cut mirror to insert in the piece after you paint it.

This
little night stand is absolutely adorable with the rest of the Key West collection. Like the dresser, there are two versions of
this piece, with or without a working drawer.
The designs are a little different though, where the solid version has
two drawers, the one with the working drawer has a shelf underneath. This piece
also has woven wicker sides and louver and wicker drawer fronts. Both Night Stands come with separately
printed drawer pull rings (with extras of course) and they are very easy to
paint and then attach.

Thinking about laundry hanging out of the dresser drawers made me think, how about a matching Laundry Hamper to go with the Key West collection?
